I purchased my SE 4 cylinder in June and immediately had alignment problems. The car pulled to the left and the steering wheel shook at about 65mph. I brought it in and the dealer did a complete realignment. He told me the car was totally off and it definitely needed service. After it was fixed, the car seemed to drive fine for a few weeks and now I'm back to the same problems. What is going on here? Do others have this problem?
i have 17 inch rims and don't bump into curbs. maybe some aggressive driving, but i'm pretty careful how i handle the car. it's a manufacturer issue becaue it came off the lot that way.
I bougth my 07 Camry in September and mine too was pulling to the left the minute I drove it off the lot. Mine is an LE with 16" aloy wheels.
Two days later I took it back, it took the dealer 5+ hours to fix it. I had to drive home that day with a loaner. The next day the car was ready but this time the wheel was not even. So two days later I took it back again to adjust the wheel. The car seems fine now but it feels that is not holding the road as I have expect it. The car loves to turn to the left but right turns are not that smooth. The innitial explanation was that the two front wheels where not inline. Meaning that one was ahead of the other. Regardless I a planning to take it to a different dealer and ask for one more alighnement check.
I have a 2007 Camry LE with a steering wheel that vibrates at 60-75 mph. It's a 4 cylinder with 16" alloy wheels. I just took it to the dealer where they rebalanced the tires, but the problem isn't fixed. They test drove it after rebalancing and didn't experience the problem. What makes it difficult to resolve is that the vibrations don't occur every time, though it's probably 95% of the time.
Yes, I should have returned the car immediately after purchase and I'm stupid for not doing so, but I have this conflict-avoidance issue. But I will keep taking the car back in hopes they can fix it.
I actually have a 2000 Honda Odyssey that has had the same problem since I bought it. After several attempts of getting the problem fixed, I gave up and lived with the vibration. I can't believe I'm having the same problem with a Toyota! Will I have to - gasp! - buy American to avoid this problem?
I have a 2007 Camry as well that has the same issue with the car pulling to the left......It has been back to the dealer 4 times and has had countless front end alignments and as of today they have not been able to resolve this issue.........The last time in they had the car for two weeks and according to the service manager, he lost count on how many times the car was on the alignment rack. When I picked the car up the last time, the service manager told me that the alignment is right on and he thinks it's just the way the car handles and follows the road????? I don't know about you but I've never seen a car that while going down the highway @ 65mph and you let go of the wheel for a second, you can see the steering wheel turn to the left, within a 100 feet it will be totally off the road. As I drive the car it is apparent that i'm always compensating or turning to the right? It is scheduled in again for the 5th time..........If anyone has had any luck getting this issue corrected, please let me know.......I really like the car, but this problem is very annoying.

Did your dealer check the TSB that came out about alignment issues??
Hmmmm, is anybody besides me slapping their collective forehead and saying the words, "Lemmon Law"?
One common theme that I have dug from each of these postings is that nobody is escalating the issue to Corporate for awareness and / or resolution.
I'm not suggesting that you yell and scream, merely that you gather your documentation and facts...then speak to a (typically) friendly person on the other end of the Toyota Customer Service office.

2007 Camry LE V6
So....my sister bought a car (2007 Camry LE) and I drove it home from the dealership. On the way home I immediately noticed that the car shifted to the right. I thought it might be the road but she has been driving it for a couple of weeks now and she noticed the same thing when she took it on a long drive.
She went to the dealership in New Iberia where we bought it and they said it was "a new safety feature" and that it was "normal". So, I'm thinking to myself, "what kind of safety feature is this?" How will you know when you really need an alignment???
Then, she calls 2 other Toyota dealerships in the area and they said they have not heard of a that "feature"....go figure right?
Is there anything we can do? We really don't want to bring it back to that particular dealership if they don't even think it's a problem. The car is less than a month old.
hi, about your sisters new camry....I am having the exact same problem!!! been to the dealeship 3 times now! I had them show me the alignment machine results, and they seem ok, but the car still shifts right! I bought the car brand new and this crap!!! Have you guys found a solution yet?
My sister ended up bringing it to another dealership (one that we should have stuck to since we bought 2 other cars there). But it seemed the tires needed to be rotated on a brand new car? They also ran a TSB test and everything else was fine. She said it's driving much better than before so it seems to have fixed the problem. I would try bringing it to another dealership's shop. Hopefully, they can be of help.
1. It's relatively common for new cars not to be in alignment from the factory. Go in and get it aligned, if you haven't already. (Of course, some posters have already done this....)
2. Given how some are pulling to the left and others are pulling to the right, it seems that there's no true "common problem" other than getting a competent alignment done.
3. I put up with a pull to the right for nearly a year, and finally took my 07 XLE in and got it aligned. Now, about four months later, I'm pulling to the right again. This time, I'll go to the best alignment shop in town, and have them give it a good workover.
4. In the end, I don't think "you know what you've got" until you get a truly competent independent shop to have a look at it. Give the dealer one shot, then pay some money and get a competent shop give it a workover. At the least, that's what I'm going to do!
