I have a 2003 Camry SE V6, and right now I'm at the point of replacing my 4 OEM tires. The old set was P215/60R16 Michelin MXV4+, and I didn't like them at all (they skid during rainy/snowy days)
Just wondering if anyone can recommend on types of tires I should put on my Camry? I have searched online, and someone mentioned BF Goodrich Traction T/A H/V rated. Don't know if they are actually good tires.
...take a look at some of the new versions of the Goodyear Eagle line. I know some people who swear by them.
(but be warned in advance that you'll likely trade performance for a long life)
My opinion is GOOD YEAR STINKS!!! Yes, they will last forever but what good is that? Your life and your family's life are riding on those tires. My opinion is this, the more miles that they say you can get out of a tire the worse the tire is. The way I see it is, The longer a tire lasts the harder the rubber, the harder the rubber the less the tire sticks to the ground. A tire that sticks to the ground when I need it to is much more important to me then how many miles I may or may not get out of the tire. In my opinion the best tires is the softest rubber but the softest rubber don't always get the most miles. But like I said above lives are much more important to me then the life span of my tires. I'm not trying to say go out and get a set of ZR rated tires for a Camry. I'm just saying don't go for the tire that gets the most miles out of it's tread. I think that just about any tire manufacturer is better then Goodyear. JUST MY OPINION, Johnnnnny

Can someone help me? Thanks very much!
I put Bridgestone Turanza LSH tires on our Camry when the original performance Turanza's wore out at 20,000 miles. They are decent in ice/snow and great in rain. It's tough to find an all around tire for winter/summer and I don't want to have two sets of tires to deal with. We use our Tundra 4X4 when there's a lot of snow but that's not an option for everyone.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???
Some people should not be allowed access to tools without books!!!
My wife's car is a 03 Camry and we replaced the OEM tires around 20,000 miles with Falkens. The Falken's have a great warranty and the tires only lasted about 30,000 miles. We got credit for the Falkens and put four new Pirelli's 3000 tires on last week. They look like decent tires and have an 80,000 mile warranty. You can also check out reviews at the America's Tires website.

Aside from the abbreviated lifespan, how did you like the Falkens?
I liked the Falkens a lot. They looked good, stuck to the road, and handled great on winding roads. They wore fast though so don't expect 60,000 miles out of them.

I couldn't have said it better;
there is an inverse relationship regarding tire performance and longevity.
There is no magic tire that can do both. But a comfortable balance of rubber soft enough to mantain traction needed on demand and rubber not that soft where it may wear out very soon. To me that would be a tire that can give me around 20k miles +/- in a northern climate from my experience.
A note on The tire rack.com: they are great reference, however, the reviews by customers are not grouped by specific tire/size+vehicle.
Yu will see excellent reviews on some tires, but an owner of X tire might get great results on his Ford Explorer 4x4 in the NorthEast area, and another owner of same tire X will get poor results in the Southeast with his Cadillac Escalade. Be careful with the reviews.
It is very subjective reading. But good overall info. to weed out the WORST performing Tires of the bunch.

I would imagine by now you have replaced the tires. What did you buy? I always get a litte scared when a customer comes in to our shop saying Michelins suck! Yikes, not many are better. You have a unique problem with traction. The problem is you tend to give up that nice ride that Michelin offers when replacing. I'm just wondering if you found what you wanted.
