I have an 07 XLE and I've had the windows aftermarket tinted. Now the auto dimming mirror is unnecessary and makes the view out the back way too dark. I have been turning off the auto feature on the mirror manually but it comes back on by default when the car is restarted. Is there a way to make it default to off and not come back on unless I press the button?

I could just turn off the ignition and it would be off too. I was hoping for a way to disable it by default without disabling it completely along with the heading indicator.
ok this is a shot in the dark but it may help you. going into the mirror is a 7 pin black connector. the red with lightblue stripe wire is power to the auto dim. use a pin removal tool to release the pin lock and pull that wire out and see if it does what you want. one note, i havent looked at an 07 camry, this was for an 05, and i dont have a schematic in front of me.
