Default toyota canada packaging

I am currently trying to configure a tundra and am pretty frustrated by the
Toyota Canada packaging. To get the factory options you want you end up
with a whole lot of stuff you don't want. It's not just the cost; the more options
you have on the truck, the more you have to go wrong.
Why doesn't Toyota Canada just list factory options and dealer options
and let the customer choose?
The dealership can still order some "standard" configuration trucks for spec
sales.
At least the customer has a choice then to take what is on the lot or order
a truck the way he wants it and wait

They basically have taken the Henry Ford "you can have it in any colour as long as it's black" approach with these trucks...

I couldn't even get 18" rims from the factory - my truck wasn't even built yet!!! So I ended up getting 20"s, "giving" them to the dealer in exchange for 18"s.
The other thing I wanted on my LTD was tow mirrors - dealer told me take it or leave it.

If they were to offer individual options the cost would be much greater and the resale much poorer. I know it's frustrating but it really simplifies things.
