Chrome Bumper Rust ????

Has anyone else noticed abnormal rust/ pitting on their rear bumper and more rusting on the inside bumper surface.
I have never seen this occur before on such a new vehicle.

I have a 08 Tundra 5.7L with rear bumper rust about 8 inches worth
I've hade the truck about 6 weeks....Kinda sad....

I oil mine every year, there's still rust on some spots, but its all under the body. Chrome still looks great.

Follow up, my dealer is replacing the rear bumper

Rusting bumper on inside. I plan to point it out at my next oil change at 15,000 miles. I assume my bumper will also be replaced.
Must be a manufacturing defect. No way should it be rusting after six months and 11,000 miles of use.

Mine is an 08 dc 3 months old. I have rust on the outside around the fog lights and some on the rear. Its bad plating and I hope they replace them. This should not be happening already. I have a 95 chevy that never gets washed and no rust on the bumpers.

I made it to the dealer finally and they are giving me new bumpers. Service manager at my dealership was aware of the problem and said Toyota is too and has corrected the plating problem. They told me I would get new bumpers with a new part number that has the plating problem fixed, we'll see.
