GAS MILEAGE
( L/100 KMS to MPG conversion) I have been getting what appeared to be very poor miles per gallon as indicated on the Centre Console AVG MPG readout.
What I have discovered is the following to be occurring. The readout when switched between L/100kms to MPG is in actual fact converting as if the truck was using USA gallons rather the Canadian gallons.
Example: Actual Readout 2007 DC Tundra
At (16.2 L/ 100kms) when switched to MPG indicates (14.5 MPG) which can only be possible when you use a conversion of (235.2146 divided by ( 16.2) L/100kms). which is the USA conversion factor. When in fact the Canadian Conversion of (L/ 100kms to MPG) is (282.481 divided by ( *** ) L/100 kms).
The proper Canadian Conversion should result in the Miles per gallon for 16.2 L/100kms = 17.4 MPG.
I have confirmed this to be the case at all Average (L/100kms readings.) when switched to MPG.
Vehicle Manual Indicates both the English and US system for calculating conversion from L/100kms to MPG can be programed into the Tundra. I don't know about everyone else but I would expect a Canadain sold Tundra to use the proper conversion for this country.
otherwise the system is useless in Canada.

If it is not selectable via a dash button, you will probably need your dealer to plug in their scanner to change it. There should be no charge for this service, but while you're at it you might convince them to activate your alarm and other stuff you might like. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Front Susp: Stock coilovers, 4" lift ( http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...6-4-inch-lift/), swapped extra spacers for Bilstein 5100s on lowest setting, wheel well height still 41.5." Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack ( http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43." Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper. After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/, 295/70, or 35x12.50/18. Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now. Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed. Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.
