Question Survey Canadain Vehicles MPG readout

Canadain Owners with Canadian purchased vehicles
Is your MPG read out in US Miles per gallon or Canadain.
When I switch the readout between (xxLitres/100km ) to MPG mine is actually reading in US Miles per gallon what does yours indicate.
Trying to determine if mine has be programmed incorrectly.

Check by converting you Litres/100kms by the following:

US MPG = (235.2146 divided by ( ***) L/100kms
Canadain MPG = (282.481 divided by ( *** ) L/100 kms

Please write in your L/100kms readout along with the corresponding MPG readout.
Then I'll do the math to confirm conversion

Your fuel thingy is in either metric or US MPG. It doesn't allow for imperial gallons.

The manual seems to suggest that both USA and British MPG maybe available.

Took a look in the manual (pg 397)and I don't see where it seems to suggest this unless you take English/US to mean British. I believe English/US means US MPG and that is what the accessory meter uses.

If you manually calculate your MPG it is clear that the computer is calculating using US MPG not British.

Maybe there is some way for the dealer to reprogram the accessory meter to change it? If so, it would be nice.

English/US if it only means US MPG would seem a bit of a redundent use of the word ENGLISH unless there is different types of US gallons as in a French or Spanish US gallon for example.

As to the calculation as it presently is the reason I'm asking is because I'm aware that the meter uses US size gallons to calculate MPG.

However Toyota refers to Canadain MPGs when selling the vehicle.
and just as a side note my vehicle is and was bought in Canada I would expect canadain measurement to be used.

It seems a bit of a redunent use of the the word English, however it refers to the "system" English Customary Weights and Measures which can mean either US or Imperial measures. Both the Imperial system and the USA system of measurement are based on the older English units of measurement.

Try your dealer. Mine said it couldn't be done but that might not be accurate.
