Default Canadian Pricing & Where to get deals?

Hey everyone,
Getting back into a Toyota after 4 Fords. Prior to that it was Toys all the way. My last Taco, a '97 was great - and I did manage to negotiate a good deal on the truck. I understand now that there is "Access Toyota" to basically make all the pricing the same (ie high) coast to coast. How does this thing work? Is it true there is no negotiating on a Toyota? I guess that is great for the used market, not devaluating the product and fair for the people that aren't good at negotiating, but tough on guys like me who go through vehicles very often (for work) and love to get a deal. I get amazing deals on Ford trucks through work but yah it's a Ford...
Anyways, is there any chance at "good" deals on Toyotas? Are there any dealers in Western Canada that sell for less? Heard that they are cheaper in the states, I assume this would result in warranty problems bringing one back from across the line?
Thanks!

I used to live in Kelowna, B.C. a couple years ago, and Vernon Toyota used to give the best deals on new vehicles.....don't know if they are still like that. I knew a few people who bought vehicles there who lived in Kelowna because of the price difference. Might be worth looking into.

I don't recall the name of any salesman in particular, they just seem to bargain better on new vehicles than any other Toyota dealership around.

Just ordered an '07 Tundra Ltd for about $4K off MSRP in Edmonton. Most dealers don't want to discount, and I was assuming that there would be no discounts on the new Tundra. I read on this website how the US folks were getting discounts, so I thought I would try (had nothing to lose). Had to work with the fleet manager who told me that Toyota wants to sell 200,000 trucks, so they are offering discounts. I spent a few hours calling all the dealerships in Edmonton via phone, but it was worth my time.

I heard a commercial for Consumer's Reports, you sign up, tell them the exact vehicle with the exact options you want, and they will give you the price the dealer pays.

Its a good starting point.

get a membership in www.carcostcanada.ca and they will get you the dealer cost...there was a post in the tundra section of the forums where someone did post the invoice costs...do a search and you should find it....I did have a post in the thread so if you have trouble, I guess you could search for one of my past posts.....

Call Jerry at High River Toyota. I saved a couple thousand on the last one I bought during the Access pricing program. Before that I saved almost 10% over the city prices.
