Question K&N or TRD Air Filter?

I have been looking at purchasing either a K&N or a TRD air filter for my 2004 Corolla S. It's advertised that the K&N will increase your horsepower by 10, but does the TRD version as well? If I want to increase HP, which is the best one to get? I have even heard that True Flow filters are good as well?

Any advice on which one will be a better fit to increase HP?

Default Re: K&N or TRD Air Filter?

K&N makes the TRD air filter.
It's the same part.

And don't believe everything the advertising says.
10 HP gain just by installing an air filter?

I say, prove it to me.
Make them guaranty it with $10,000 cash, if it doesn't increase it.
Then watch how fast they back pedal, once they are forced to back up their claims with hard cash.

2, maybe 3 HP, but not 10.
Maybe there is some engine out there that gets that kind of gain, but not on a 1ZZFE engine, that's for sure.

If you buy that piece of advertising, then you would probably buy the advice that increasing the air pressure in your tires 5 pounds will double your gas mileage too.

10HP? Not on this planet.
