Default Manual trans trans fluid?

I'm buying a new 2007 Corolla CE to use as a commuter car. I'm getting the 5 spd stick and was wondering if the transmission oil can be changed, or is it a sealed unit like some of the auto manufacturer's are starting to do.

I would like to think that it can be drained and filled w/o too much trouble. Thanks in advance for any info. anyone may have on this...

Thumbs up Re: Manual trans trans fluid?

Mustang67408, thank you very much for your detailed response. I'm glad to hear the trans oil can be changed, a buddy of mine who is a Ford mechanic says some of the new auto transmissions are a sealed unit. The grade of oil you referenced sounds similar to what is used in my Tundra's drive train somewhere.
