Default '99 Corolla Power Locks Going Crazy

The power locks are supposed to lock when the car engine is started and then unlock when the engine is turned off. My problem is that the power locks unlock the doors at any time; when I'm stopped, when I'm driving, even when the car is turned off. I'll lock the car with the fob and come back at the end of the day and the doors are unlocked. I can't find any pattern, it seems totally radom. I've taken it to the dealership twice and it never does it while there; so they say and look at me like I'm crazy. Anyone had this problem or heard of it before?

Its a fairly common problem.
1. One of the door switches is not functining properly.(shorting to ground, telling the door ECU (Integration relay) to open the doors.
or
2. There is a bad ground at connector (I12)(front of inside fuse box, orange connector)
or
3. It needs an INTEGRATION RELAY (its mounted to the back side of the fuse box under the drivers side dash). <----MOST COMMON

These are the 3 most common problems

Thanks for the info.

I can handle the first one, but how difficult would 2 and 3 be to fix myself?

The second one is not to bad as long as the wires are ok.
They just need to be cleaned, but if they are BAD. Then the wires need to be replaced. That involves cutting and soldering in new wires and a connector.

The 3rd is just a matter of removing and replaceing the Integration relay. It mounts to the back of the fuse box inside the vehicle. (drivers side). Someof the dash pieces have to be reove to gain access to the back side of that fuse box, mostly time consuming and pricey.

Any idea how much money we're talking about here for the parts?

If I go to the dealership and explain the problem and ask for an integration relay will they know what I am talking about?
