03 Driver side PDL will not work

All of the sudden the driver's side power door lock quit working on my g/f's 03 corolla. I had this problem w/ my 00 F250 and there is a fix for it but you have to remove the actuator and pry it open to get to the motor. I know the actuators are around $80 and I don't want to spend it so has anyone else had this problem AND how do you get an 03 door panel off? Any help is appreciated.

Does the other locks from the switch?
Check the boot in the door where wires run for the locks.
