2002 Corolla Radio

I just bought an 02 Corolla. The Factory radio has a cassette player and all the appropriate buttons for a CD player, but unless the CD player is hidden under the hood, I don't appear to have one. The radio is described in the owners manual as the type 3 radio. I guess an optional cd changer was available that year? Anyway, I have searched online for a factory CD player and am not satisfied with the results of my search. Is there such a thing as a "plug in" cd player for this radio that maybe mounts in the trunk or under a seat, or am I better off with an aftermarket CD player?
