Default Corolla

I am thinking about getting a Corolla. I prefer the "S" model in manual or auto. I currently own a 2004 Tacoma PreRunner Crew Cab. That has a V6 and my concern is the power in the Corolla. I know I can fit because someone who is also 6'2" fits comfortably. I am looking for something economical on gas and reliable. Gas isn't going to get cheaper and we have a Highlander so if we need to pick anything up, it is there. I was also thinking about the Matrix or Vibe (joint ventures). What are your thougts?

Nice car? Roomy? Enough power for a 4cyl?

Thanks.

Default Re: Corolla

I have an '07 Corolla LE and an '02 Prerunner 4 cyl. The Corolla is the same width inside as the Prerunner. I'm 6'2" and 275 lbs. and have plenty of room in the Corolla. The little Corolla has all the power you need. Very quick getting up to speed when you have to pull out in traffic. Nice on the interstate too, but if you get too close behind the big trucks, it will try to wander all over the place. You can make a U turn in 1/3 the space required to turn the truck around.

They put the steering wheel too far away. If you slide the seat back to give yourself some leg room, you can't reach the steering wheel. That's the only complaint I have with mine.
