This is a discussion thread titled "08 Corolla CE first tank 36.2 mpg", within the Corolla Matrix forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Can't beat these for mileage. I get 40-42 in the summer 36-37 in the winter with my 03 5spd, 90% highway. They may very well be the cheapest thing on the road to run when you look at total cost of ownership. I like the Yaris, but the Corolla is really close in price, rides nice on the highway, has a back seat big enough to sit in, and gets the same if not better mpg. I think for they are a better deal right now, but when the gen 10 Corolla's hit the street the Yaris may end up being a better deal.
I have an '07 LE automatic and have never averaged less than 33 mpg on a tank of gas. I live out in the country, but even with a lot of city driving involved, it's always 33 or better on a tank. I've gotten as much as 38 when highway driving.
I have an 07 Corolla S 5 Speed. My best MPG was 39, but my avg was 36 on the freeway going 80 with the AC on. I just got a company car, so i have to sell the car now. No longer need it.
We have a 2007 S auto, and we get 32 to 35 mpg that is rural and city..........we haven't gotten the chance to hit the interstate for the long run yet......we are pleased
I have a 08 corolla le 5 speed. My first tank was 36.5mpg. I am on the 2nd tank and I just installed a scangauge 2 and my tank average is 41.8. I do a lot of highway driving and it is very cold here. I think once I get my stock tires back on and nice weather I can hit 45mpg.
