2005 Toyota Corolla CD Issue????Need Help??

So this is a OEM cd player. Both cd and radio wont work. But there is a power. There is light and you can see everything like its playing.. But there is no audio. nothing seems to be working.. took it to the dealer and they said they need to replace the whole unit and would cost $300 bucks.. I then went out and bought a Pioneer Head unit and got an adapter.. still, nothing works. i tried the new Head unit to another car and everything works fine.. i also took it to Best Buy, they told me the speakers are out and need new one.. but last i check i dont remeber it was bad.. now im just completely lost.. Any help would very very helpful..
