Question Starter Replacement

Hi all, looks like my starter has an internal short and it won't stop cranking unless I disconnect the battery. Have anyone done a starter replacment on their car? Would appreciated if anyone can provide some tips or discribe the degree of difficulty. My car is a 1999 Corolla LE. Thanks in advance.

They are fun to do. Not. I just got done with my daughters 99 corolla.

If you have a little bit of mechanical experience & some ratchet extensions, you can do it. There are 2 bolts that secure the starter to the block. The one on the right is the beotch, you have to do it blindly almost.
You got to remove the battery to get to it, and putting it back in is the hardest part. Getting the starter in place isn't easy either because you don't have much room to work with.

Degree of difficulty?----------between 1&10 with 10 being the hardest i would say 7.5-8.
