Yeah, I just wish the toys were not so expensive. LOL
Anyways, I dont think I posted this picture of mine going down the high way. I know my XRS has a lot of "oomph" for a 4 banger. The difference in acceleration between my car and my mom's Camry 2.4 is amazing. I know my car is geared real deep so it runs high RPMs. I'm wondering what yours will be like..
yeah, thats 5th gear.
I love love LOVE the XRS.
When I had my 05, doing 80 in 6th gear was around 3800rpm.
When I had my 05, doing 80 in 6th gear was around 3800rpm.
Wow, seriously? Even with an extra gear? Man Toyota gears these things DEEP.
Anyways, due to the "gas shortage" around NC and a few other parts of the east coast, I will be doing my best to see how far I can stretch a tank of gas. Mostly because I don't want to sit in a gas line. So we'll see what kind of MPG I can get out of it if I can keep my foot out of the gas.
So this car is pretty interesting. I filled up on a Sunday and managed to drive till Friday on 1/4 tank of gas! The dash read out was stating 35.5MPG! I did a lot more coasting than usual though, but really kept my foot out of it for the whole week. Most starts were just running up to 2000 RPMs. I didnt have a chance to really get a good idea of the manually calculated MPGs since I went on a trip that Friday. I spent the duration of the trip pulling 80-90MPH which destroyed my MPG.
I guess I start trying to get more MPGs out of this thing. If I can run a week on a 1/4 tank of gas then it'll be worth it.
Oh yeah, and I'm well over 10k miles now with no issues what so ever *knock on wood*. The car has been flawless in all aspects out side of my driver's mat wearing out where my heels sit when I'm driving... I'll get a pic of that soon.
I believe its the same thing as the Scion TC or very similar at least. Same engine for the most part. I'm just not really interested in the investment.
Well I've had my XRS now for a couple of weeks now. Only gotten to ride in it once due to a motorcycle accident and that was to bring me home from spending 3weeks in the hospital. Love the car, caint wait till I'm well enough to drive it. The accident broke my ankle, shattered my elbow, broke my clavacle and a compresion fracture of L1 in my back.
The accident was the falt of the car which cut right in front me and when I hit the car it throw me 25 feet.
Sucks

Sorry to hear about your bad luck bob. I just saw a motorcycle wreck the other day and got out to help the guy. Sounds like he had it a bit easier than you did. He had a shorter flight than you did. Pretty scary stuff though. I'm glad you're doing well though.
Sucks you haven't had a chance to drive you're baby. Soon enough you'll have uour chance to git 'er out and put some miles on 'er.
Drove the car yesterday. You can tell the power difference easily. like the steering much better and the breaks, not to mention the looks with the 17" wheels. Think I will be very pleased with this one!!! Havent got the molding on yet but when Im able to I aready have them. You know I like my molding.

Car looks sweet bob! I wish I could have gotten a white one (I like a white vehicle). I had to settle for silver which has earned my car the nickname "Silver Bullet"
I wonder how the A/T is comparable to M/T in terms of 0-60.
Well just crossed 12k miles yesterday. Still no major issues that I can think of other than the floor mats wearing thin on the drivers side.
The engine still runs well and smooth as a top.
I'm still a little fishy on the gear box. Not quite as smooth as I would like to be. It takes a long time for the engine to rev down between shifts. Maybe its just me though...
Anyways, car is still getting around 28/29MPG for my driving which is pretty rough.
No squeaks or leaks or rattles that I can see/hear.
I am more and more annoyed by the TCS, but it operates like any other vehicle I've driven that has had it. It sucks when you have to go and suddenly the engine cuts power to get traction. I believe its a little too sensitive in the XRS...
I just noticed the other day I had only gotten about 40 miles on my trip meter and the needle on the fuel gauge had already started moving off of "F". I just realized that I've only had the car during mostly warmer weather. We've been getting around 19 degrees in the morning, so I wonder if that has something to do with that.
I'll start tracking my MPGs again and report back with what the numbers are.
SSSSSSwwwwwwweeeeeeeetttttt!!! I took the Corolla tag off the rear and people can't beleive it's a Corolla.
I love mine, how are you liking yours??

17,000 miles and still going strong. Been doing a little more interstate driving here recently. These are 17,000 hard miles too. I'm not easy on this car in the least.
I have found a couple of chipped spots on my back wheels near the center of the wheels. Right down through the clear and the paint to whatever is behind that.
I still have a hard time driving the stick in that car. I dunno if its me or the car, but I just have a hard time getting smooth shifts consistently. Then driving my truck which is a S/T messes me up when I jump back into the car. lol
Overall the paint seems to be holding up good to the weather and road garbage. I washed it yesterday and everything cleaned up very well minus the few paint chips, but that is to be expected these days.
