Do-It-Yourself Could I need a new wheel bearing?

So I've recently been very low on $$ until a few months ago when my situation improved. Now I have some cash to get a few things fixed on my '04 corolla S.

My question is this: My breaks are past the squeeking stage and are grinding, so I know I'm going to need routers BUT I've also noticed that when driving and not applying the breaks I'm hearing a rubbing/grinding noise that sounds like it's coming from my front driver's side wheel. At very low speeds I can almost feel it rub once per revolution of my tire.

I've had a similar sound in the past with my rear wheel and it ended up being my wheel bearing.

Could the same problem be happening with my front wheel too? Is there an easy way for me to check before I go to my mechanic only to realize he doesn't have parts in-stock?
