Default 06' Corolla Interior Noise

Hey all

Did a search but didnt come up with much

I have a buzzing noise that you can hear coming from the dash when your going about 40kmh (before wind gets louder)

But most imprortantly, there is a major cracking type noise coming from somewhere near the back of the car, like along the roofline or something. On every bump you can hear this and it is not confidence inspiring. Just to be fair, the entire roof makes noise, but this stands out.

Anyone know of anything I can do to try and get rid of some of these noises??

Thanks in advance!

Are you the original owner?
Has this car been in an accident? rollover perhaps?

best thing to do is to hit the roof with your hands and see where the sound might be coming from. Dash pretty much all cheap cars will eventually make some noise....
make sure there is nothing loose in the trunk to cause this noise... make sure the spare is tightened good too.

Thanks for the reply

Car is mint shape, never rolled or been in any accident what so ever, came right from a toyota dealership. Its actually super clean, especially under the hood, and this was comparing to 2 other corollas in the lot.

Everything else like spare tire hasnt been touched and is in perfect shape as well as nothing being in the trunk.

It really has me stumped where the noise comes from, but it seems maybe from the back plastic by the window (rear)

Thanks!

Hi. I had the same problem. First there was noise coming out of front passenger side then couple months later from the back.

It was rattling/buzzing and very annoying. It is common problem with Corollas. Go to your dealer and they should fix it (it is covered under warranty!). They will put some foam padding under plastic and DONE! If they say it is too late and they won't do it, do it yourself. Just take off rubber that is around the door frame and take off pillars OR stick something in between plastic parts (dash and pillar) like i did before I got it fixed. Good luck.

I'm guessing you checked the various layers of the back hatch and windows for stuck leaves or rocks?

Yes, for sure

I also think that it is exactly the plastic parts that Smiley had mentioned. Maybe I will get some of that black one side adhesive foam that comes in strips, and stop the rattling. I will post pics when doing it!

Thanks alot guys!
