09 matrix

So I was thinking of getting a new matrix xrs 5 speed. When I revved it up in 1st gear and hit 2nd. Man it had some bad wheel hop. So I did it againg and it was bad. My question is do they all do it. Or was there something wrong with the one I was driving?

My 09 Corolla will wheel hop bad sometimes. It doesnt really do it every time though. I guess it depends on the pavement and the tires and such.
