The car is brand new so the gas milage should go up once its broken in. I got around 370 miles of highway/city/stop and go traffic on a full tank of gas with the AC on 99% of the time. Also my tire pressure is around 30psi when the tires are hot. Next time i go to costco ill have them set to 35psi cold using hydrogen gas.
I filled up today at $3.05 a gallon(cheapest around) and it only cost me $32.00
I crunched some numbers today:
Assuming that gas prices stay constant at $3.05 a gallon:
The tundra would have cost me $3330.6 a year, and the corolla would cost me only $439.2 a year on gas.
So im saving $2891.4 a year
That means that the Corolla pays for its self in around 6 years.
My math could be wrong, i did after i took some pills

Wow you only fill up 16 times a year . I know I dont do an extreme amount of driving and Ill fill up maybe 42 times a year (once every 10 days). So you would be driving maybe 6,400 miles a year . Wow, either you dont drive very much or the math on your gas bill every year is wrong.

My college is exactly 7.7 miles away from my house. I go to school 5 days a week, on somedays i make 2 round trips to shcool. Other than school i dont drive much anymore, and BTW the tundra was horrible during stop and go traffic!

My school is about 25 miles away from my house. I get about 12-14 mpg. Wow so thats about $12 in gas a day just to go to school and back . I go to school 2 days a week decided to pile all my classes on top of each other. So thinking that would be 100 miles a week and 1600 miles a semester. Thats what almost $400 a semester in gas and with the rising prices in tuition and books. No love for the college student's . Well at least I'm getting help from my folks .

I think you better refigure....
The most you could hope for is to cut your gas cost in half.
I have a Tundra DC that gets me 16 mpg in 48 mile daily loop to work mixed.
The Corrola may get double that mileage.
The tundra would have cost me $3330.6 a year, and the corolla would cost me only $439.2 a year on gas.
So your Corolla gets 7.6 times better gas mileage than your Tundra? Assuming you were getting a very very poor 10 mpg with your Tundra that would make that corolla getting 76 mpg.

i had to fill up the tundra around 3.5 times a month goint to school and back. I full tank of gas lasts me around 300+ in the corolla so i would fill it up less than 2 times a month. Maybe there was something wrong with my tundra? I dont care anymore cuz i sold it...
Im having second thoughts on the corolla S, its embarrassing to drive it to school because it looks girly. My parents wanted a new car soon, im thinking of giving the corolla to them and buying a Scion TC or a RSX type S if i can get a good deal on it.
i get 370 miles per tank out of my tundra. sure it cost me $64.00 to fill but i feel hella safe in it.
40/60 city/hwy driving.

I drove the civic and didnt like it, and its also the number 1 stolen car here in California.
Yeah, but that is probably based on total cars in CA. Look at it on a per 1000 car basis and I bet Acuras and other higher end cars are on that list. There are just so many civics around that when an average % of civics get stolen they add up to the most stolen car.
