Default running a power inverter

I want to run a power inverter in my corolla to hook up a PS2. The problem is that in the car it says 12V 120 Watt max. I wanted a 400watt power inverter. Can i use it?
The PS2 says that it uses 93W 120V

I say go for it. The worst that can happen is you'll blow a 12v lighter fuse.

i talked to toyota dealer today and they told me that the ciggeratte lighter is limited to 15 amps, so i think im going to run it for now and then hardwire it this weekend.

Default Inverter

Hi,

Voltage times amperage equals wattage. So, 400 watts at 120 volts would be about 3.33 amps. Say 4 to be on the safe side. 120 watts at 12 volts would be about 10 amps (probably 15 amp fuse).

Should be no problem at all.

Bob

Thanks for your help. I bought a 400 watt inverter from kragen for $39.99 with $10.00 rebate, and it ran fine. The only thing i noticed was that i was getting horizontal lines running down my screen when i was playing PS2, but i dont think thats from the inverter.

AS for the inverters out there...the best power inverters are (imho) made by power bright. the power bright inverters are great. i like this place for them: Batteries by Battery Tex: POWER BRIGHT Batteries

you'll see they have the cables too...but generally good stuff for good prices.

hope that helpz
