Wrong !
The fog lights are available on both the LE and the CE depending on where your dealer is located.
In North Dakota dealers have all sorts of LE's with the optional fog lights, from the factory.
They also don't often come with the mandatory Moon Roof.
Toyota could sell a lot more product in North America, if they would just drop the stupid Japanese marketing scheme, and adopt the Burger King type marketing....You know...”Have it your way.”
Using the system of allowing you (the customer) to order your car the way you want it, instead of the way THEY want you to have it, they could sell a ton more of them here.

But a lot of people are really turned off to buying a car that can only be optioned the way Toyota SAYS it can be, mainly with "packages", instead of individual options.

Tell me how many CE owners would gladly pay for remote door locks?
Not available says Toyota.
Why?
Because they think you are too stupid to order your own car, so they are doing it for you, whether you like it or not.
And it allows them to stick it to you for the LE instead.
Great choice, right?
You want a cheap option added to your CE, but the factory says you have to buy the expensive model in order to get it.

I wish I was wrong! Go to "toyota.com". I put in a North Dakota zip code and it still shows that Integrated front fog lamps are standard in the S but under the CE and LE "-". "O" means option "-" means not even offered as an option.

I did find out however that the 02-04 Camery and 05-06 Corolla fog lights fit the 07 Corolla.

I am still determined to install my fog lights.

You're not going to believe how truly easy it is.
If a 17 year old high school girl, with no automotive experience, can do it, then so can you.

Just follow the easy instructions I wrote.

Cool Re: Factory Fogs on '06 are easy

It is not a matter of how easy it is. I believe it is very easy. I just wish my Corolla was pre-wired so I could keep it factory instead of adding after market.

Are you sure that's a NEW 2007 Corolla you are talking about?
Because I checked a local dealer and could not find one Corolla that did not have the same wiring harness that has the 9006 plugs.
What would make you think yours is not wired like all the rest?

I have a new 2007 Corolla CE that has factory installed cruise, power windows and doors (built and purchased in Ontario, Canada). It has the wiring harness for the fog lights as described in the earlier posts.

Hello. Let me start by saying a Big Thanks to all who have contributed a wealth of info to fellow Toyota owners like me.

I'm new here, but have been reading a lot of good info here for a very long time. I have an all Toyota family of cars, and just bought a '08 Corolla LE(didn't want the spoiler and other visual add-ons). My question is(and because I haven't had a chance to look), has anyone performed this mod on a '08 Corolla?. I'm nursing a hand injury, but as soon as I'm healed, this will be my first project.

Thanks
Tony

Tony,

Using your GOOD hand, jack the car up a bit in front.
Place jack stands under it, just in case.
Now lay down under it and look up into the space between the front bumper and the radiator.
Sometimes the 9006 plug on the right side falls loose and can be seen easily.
If not, then just feel up along side of the radiator support frame for the plugs.
If you have them, the addition of the fogs will be easy....and factory.
Next, open the electrical fuse and relay junction box located just above and to the right of the battery.
Look to see if the 15 amp foglight fuse is already in place, and if there are metal contacts installed for the foglight relay. (Its location is shown on the inside of the cover you removed.)
If all these are in place then all you need is a #2 Phillips screw driver to install the lights.
(Refer to previous instructions contained in this thread.)
If all this is too difficult to do with one hand, then look around for any 16 year old high school girl to do it for you.
I just talked one through it 2 weeks ago, and she did all the work.
The lights mean more to her knowing that she did it herself.

Thanks phil.

Wasn't aware you had posted a reply. I looked and there is nothing on the side of the radiator. But someone mentioned wires on both sides of the engine, near the radiator with plugs. These plugs appear to just end there(going no where), which is kinda strange. Wonder if these could be it. I could see a white label with the number 7 on them. I'll have to look at my owner's manual and see what these wires and squarish black boxes are. Also, it's not really a box but a thin square-shaped plastic piece on both ends. I would like to post photo's but no doubt the photos would come out too big(sorry--not all that knowlegable about digital cameras). I guess in the interest of finding out for sure, I will post a photo, and maybe you or someone else can take a look at it.

I'm like you and the others... I want to keep it factory, but if the plugs aren't there, I will still add the fog lights. I've added lights on other vehicle I've owned and to me at least, it's easy.

Tony

Tony,

Are you sober yet?
My reply was spelled out pretty plain and simple.
The plugs should be found, (one on either side) (right and left) of the radiator support frame.
You then say they weren't there, but later confirm they, or something like them are. lol
Along side of the engine????

Well, which is it?
Do you know what a 9006 headlight plug looks like?
If you are not sure, then just unplug one of your low beams and see if it looks just like the one you found where I explained they would be located.
As for the reply about instructions, all you need to do is read the original post that started this thread.

Are you kind of red faced right now? lol
Well don't feel so bad about it....just count it as a learning experience.
Trust me, if some little 16 year old high school girl can do it, then so can you.

Ha ha! Phil, you are a funny guy! I wish I did drink to help me cope with this soreness I'm still suffering from.

But now that things are getting better, I had a chance to look a bit closer, along the radiator, and everywhere else you said the fog light wiring might be, along with everywhere else I thought the wires could possibly be hidden. I also looked in the fuse box, for a fuse and relay. No contacts, fuse, or relay. I also looked at those wires and square shaped box(that others have seen), near the radiator, and was able to get a closer look at the numbers[68173 02040(I got more info from this thread 07 Camry- what's part# 89173-06090? airbag crash sensor or front foglight connector? - Toyota Forums :: Toyota Nation)]. Apparently the wires I saw(both sides, and behind the radiator edges) terminate at the air bag sensors. I took a bunch of photos but as I suspected, the Pix are way, wayyy too big to post. But I do have them in case they are somehow needed.

I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones to have a new Corolla without the wiring already intact.

Soooo... I now need to get a hold of Sparks Toyota/Scion to at least order some of the parts.

Thanks again Phil for the info(and embarassment).

Default Re: Factory Fogs on '06 are easy

Thanks to the great info in this thread, I just finished installing the factory fog lights in my '07 Corolla CE (NUMMI built, Southeast Toyota Dist). I just got my turn-signal switch and relay from Sparks Toyota and got it installed in about 10 minutes, and there is light! Now to aim them properly...

I got the light assemblies on ebay, genuine Toyota (although used), under $100 for both, in great shape.

If it helps, when looking for the wiring, reach from behind the bumper and pop the fog light blank plate off and shine a flashlight in there. On the passenger side, the 9006 plug is very obvious, almost up against the white plastic of the washer fluid container, taped along with another miscellaneous connector along the support that Phil talks about. The one on the drivers side blends in with the darker materials of the support, etc.

Thanks again!

Tony,

Tell me.
When you were looking for the 9006 headlight plugs, (For the foglights) were you looking down into the engine compartment from above, or were you underneath the car looking up into the space between the radiator and the front bumper?

Hey Phil,

I looked from the top and bottom. The only thing I could see that looked liked wiring with electrical ends were the airbag sensors.

I haven't had a chance to have the foglights installed yet. When I called Sparkes, they also said that according to their diagrams, the foglight wiring should be there.

Phil, do you or others have a photo of the pre-install(of the the 9006 connectors), so that myself and others could identify the exact location of the plugs?

Default Re: Factory Fogs on '06 are easy

I really shouldn't have to explain this again, but I will cause I'm a nice guy.

1. Set the parking brake, and then jack the front of car up high enough to put jack stands under the rocker panels, or the front suspension. Doesn't matter which just don't go climbing under the car until you've done that.

2. LAY down on the ground and place your head about midway between the front bumper and the radiator.
(If you are in the right position, you should be able to look straight up and see the horn.)

3. Now look over to the right hand side of the car (That's the passenger side for those who haven't mastered the terms: left and right yet.)

You should see a 9006 headlight plug somewhere between the front of the wheel well, and the back side of the front end cover that forms the body around the bumper.

If you are not familiar with what a 9006 plug looks like, then i invite you to remove the plug that is attached to your low beam headlight.
It looks exactly like that.

Now this plug may be taped up to some part or it may have fallen down already, so looking for a loose wiring harness with a 9006 plug is your mission.

4. If all this fails, then take the car to the dealer and ask him to point it out to you, or do what I did, ask any 16 year old high school girl to find the plug.
It's amazing what they will do for $5. lol

5. Now roll over so that you are facing the left side (That's the driver side.)
This might be pretty tricky for someone who had a hard time finding their Easter basket on Sunday morning, so maybe a flashlight might be useful at this point.

You can start out by avoiding searching for anything that resembles something that does not look like a 9006 head light plug.
It may be taped up to the outside (Left side) of the radiator support, but at any rate, it won't be very far away from the opening in the lower valance where the fog light gets installed.

Now go look again.

Remember. In order to find the plugs you have to be in a position where you can see both the back side of the bumper, and the front side of the radiator, at the same time.
And if your head is any higher than the bottom of the radiator, you're in the wrong place.
