2000 Corolla - remove door panel when replacing interior door handle?

2000 Corolla base model, no power anything.

I need to replace the interior door handle on the driver's door. Will I have to remove the door panel to do so?

Are there any gotcha's or special tools in replacing the door handle?

Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated, if available.

Philips screwdriver and needle nose pliers.

Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated, if available.

- remove the screw behind the door opening handle and slightly push/slide the handle cousing toward the front of the car and try to pull it out slightly, you will see a wire rod attached to it, you will need to pry the clip off the wire end so you can pull out (up) the wire from the handle cradle

Do you or does anyone else know do you have to purchase the door handle at the dealer or can it be relaced somewhere else?

Will this procedure be the same for the 1999 Corolla with Power Locks and Windows? I pulled my handle out enough to see the plastic clip and the metal hook, so I'm hopeful...
