Corolla 99 Error code P0441

Hello Everyone

I just signed in here cause i am having a problem P0441. Don't seem to have an clear answer on what this is.

It started one day while i was late and flooring to make some time. The check engine lite up so back home i check it out and it was code P0441. I cleared it and came back 2 days later stayed on for a week so i cleared it again. It came back 2 days later. Couple of day laters i filled up my tank and it went off after half an hour of driving. But then again after 2 days it came back.

I am not that good in mechanic so i dont know where to start.

Hey toyocrap - I have the same problem that started when I was flooring it too. I've read a lot about what the possible problems can be (bad gas cap, charcoal canister, MAF sensor, etc) but before I go to the dealer and spend $400+ I was wondering what solution you found since your problem started the same way mine did...

I got the same error codes P0441 & P0446 on my 1999 Toyota Corolla with 60k miles. So, where is this Canister located? I can't tell from the diagram. Is it on the rear left bottom? Also, I took it to a local mechanic and he said something about replacing the computer chip costing me $2000. I think this is ridiculous. Does anyone have a picture of where this canister is located? Also, where is this other part that needs to be changed located? Thanks.

hope this helps. i am not sure about the corollas, but check under the car next to the gas tank
