Smile keyless entry problem

hi there! i was searching on-line and stumbled onto this site. i have an 04 corolla s model. my keyless entry stopped working so i took it to the dealership. they worked on it all day and said they have no idea what's wrong. now they are going to charge me $400 in labor and they have no idea what is wrong with it. they said i would have to pay for parts as well. he said its not covered under my extended warranty. is this an average cost? has anyone else had this problem?

That kind of repair should be covered under the Toyota 3/36 warranty. If you have more than 36K miles then the ext warranty might cover it.
How do they know the EXT WARR wont cover it , if they dont know the problem??????? Sounds fishy to me. I would find someone else.
Personally $400 sounds wayyyyyyy to high. I would figure $180 as a diagnosis starting point and go from there once I found the problem, but thats me.
Good Luck
