I just installed one on my 2007 Corolla CE. All you have to do is cut a rectangle hole on the lower right side of your steerling wheel plastic and install the handle switch with 2 provided mounting screws. You have to take the airbag off for installation.
The later half year 2004 and later models are Drive-by-wire. That means all you have to do is install the switch and plug in the connector in the steerling wheel receptacle behind the airbag. There is no physical throttle cable to run to the engine compartment.
Depends whether it is manual or automatic. The manual has one extra wire to run to the clutch limit switch to disenge the Cruise when the clutch paddle is pressed.
If you are looking for aftermarket brand, use Rostra 250-1768; for manual, it is 250-1771.
It took me a little over one hour to install. Cuting a neat rectangular hole takes the most time. Toyata dealers cost $90x2 plus tax and shop fee just for the installation.
