What type of engine oils and fuel octane that you guys recommend? My Corolla S 5-speed is getting 34.5 (according to the car's comp). I am at 5-5300 ft above sea level using 88 oct Chevron.

On the clock is 4049 mi and the the mpg's raised to 36.7! 0w20 Toyota oil (red bottle) or 5w20 Mobil??? Great little car with the toys!

hello everyone one;; need to know what size oil filter wrench for 09 rolla itsa carteidge instead of spin on very small too ?????

It is a 65mm/14 flute "cup" style wrench that is to be used with a 3/8" drive ratchet that can be picked up at your local parts store. I recommend the K-D tools part# 3253 or the plastic Napa #77-3860???

I have an 07' tundra sr5 double cab and just bought an 09 Corolla LE. With 120 miles on it am averaging only 32.2 mpg and hopefully averages 35-36 mpg once broken in in 1-2,000 miles. Interesting to note a lot of 09' Corolla owners are having oil consumption above average with the now recommended 0w-20 oil where I think last years 1.8L was rated at 5w-30 with very little oil consumption. It is sights like this that are valuable where owners report issues with their vehicles for all to know to help others. I will be religiously checking my oil every 500 miles or so to make sure I am not losing a quart every oil change. If so, I will switch to 5w-30 and if still oil consumption-corolla is gone but lets hope not-so far great little car with just enough power and room to be adequate. Nothing fancy, just good enough to be a commuter car and nothing more.
