This is a discussion thread titled "Question about AW", within the Detailing forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I just applied some on the hood of my truck, and in a few spots it looks darker, almost like it left streaks or something. Any suggestions? QD and then more AW? I'm so confused.

Just use FC&S when your truck is lightly dusty, not dirty. It' just removes fingerprints, dust, etc. Keeps your truck really clean when you dont have time to wash.

My truck is a magnet for fingerprints. I could tell someone not to touch the paint, and they touch it ten seconds later. FC&S has turned into my best friend. Since i have 4 doors, I end up driving everywhere

I don't use AW straight from the bottle without the truck being moist and the rag being wet, I spread it then go over with a dry mf towel, if not it will leave residue.
I have never had any residue problems with AW. Actually never heard of that one. I just spray it on a dry surface and buff of kinda like a QD.
Maybe you should email Duragloss to see what the problem is. They have great CS.
The way I use the AW is the reason I get a residue, I do the whole truck and don't dry some areas completely (they say do a panel at a time) when I do the final wipe the wet areas can streak residue whatever you want to call it (its not white) just takes a little more buff with the MF towels.
For some reason, the streaks were gone in a few hours. I don't know exactly what it is, but I'm glad it's gone. I guess maybe it was just really hot when i sprayed it on, and once it cooled off, the 'streaking' cleared up.
