Exterior Protectant (exterior Plastic and Undercover)
I wanted to know what i could use to protect my Under cover and the exterior of the truck.
I want to find a protectant for the plastic bed rails and the tailgate end. I bought an undercover a few weeks ago and would like to put some kind of protectant on it.
Armor all is out of the question b/c its not water soluable and would leave streaks all over the trucks paint when it rains.
303 would work but i dont wanna buy 16oz for 15bucks or 1 gallon for 50bucks.
Let me know what you guys recommend. Ive searched 9-10pages of threads in detailing fourm and didnt come up with what i was looking for.

Re: Exterior Protectant (exterior Plastic and Undercover)
Umm, just use plain old AA. It looks almost the same as 303, and protects just as good. Also try Poorboys Natural Look Dressing, or Duragloss vinyl and leather protectant.

AA will work on the painted plastic interior.
But i dont think it will work on the outside parts. When it rains it will leave oily runny water marks down the side of the truck. I know 303 is waterbased so it shouldnt but was wondering if anyone uses anything else.

I did use 303 on my bedcover and it does run in the rain. I use duragloss Marine and RV protectant once it dries it is waterproof. Water actually beads up on it.
Re: Exterior Protectant (exterior Plastic and Undercover)
I like to use Einszettes Tiefenpfleger for exterior trim. It doesnt leave a cheap looking greasy finish, but more of a matte/satin look. Provides strong UV protection and it doesnt run or smear when it gets wet.
Re: Exterior Protectant (exterior Plastic and Undercover)
Well, the streaks you will see with almost any trim product. I get them sometimes, others I wont. 303 does it for me, and AA will do it, depending on how you apply it.

Re: Exterior Protectant (exterior Plastic and Undercover)
Late post---
I know Simoniz Back to Black is categorized as a trim restorer, but I find myself buying 2 or more bottles at a time and using it regularly on my plastic rail covers, on top of the tailgate, my plastic tuffbox in my truck bed, and the plastic trim at the bottom of my '07 tundra... I would suggest trying some. You can buy it locally... You rub it in, and buff it off.
