    Default California duster

Any body ever use a California duster on a vehicle? I have a 07 crewmax limited (salsa red pearl) and I just spent 2 hours cleaning it after 4 weeks of cold ,snowy ,sloppy, wet roads and it looked beautiful! I then drove 4 miles to dealer for oil change (had a 50% off coupon or I would do it myself) I could not believe how dusty it got. Anyway would love to simply dust it off versus wash again. They claim the duster will not scratch the paint, but I don't see how> Anyone have any experience with this?

I have black paint and have used the duster several times with no problem. The key is to keep it somewhere safe where no type of debris that would cause a scratch can get in it. My buddy was cutting ceramic tile in his garage and somehow a tiny piece ended up in his duster......DISASTER!!!!!!

    His paint was ruined.

I haven't used one before but I park outside and I wouldn't consider putting one on my paint.

If you go over to the Detailing forum on this site you can ask some of the experts there....I think this has been discussed before so doing a search might help you too.

I've used the California duster for years and it's never failed. Actually, the darker the duster gets, the better it works. I even have a mini duster for the intrerior. Great for getting the dust off the gigantic black dash and piano finish pieces.2

I have one that was purchased in 01,its been washed twice and still does a great job.I also purchased a small version that fits nicely under the front seat,it takes 10 sec to dust off that fuzzy dash and center console.

Make sure you cure it out really well on newsprint, the longer the better. If it leaves streaks on the paint or glass put it back on fresh paper for another day or so.

The large size real California Duster (not sure about copy cats) can be washed with Woolite. I've had mine for years and have washed it twice and it still works. As stated though you do have to be careful about how much and what kind of dust debris you're dealing with.

PS: You do not want to use it on a vehicle after it's been sitting in the hot sun because the wax treatment in the duster can stick to the paint.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
