Default A reedonkulous brand of wax

So anyway i'm at one of our local truck parts dealership and talking to the owner who happened to be a former member on here. Shooting the breeze and catching up when he shows me his new detailing shop on the side of his little warehouse bay. I'm looking at all the usual zaino, zymol, pinnacle, p21s, etc. when I stumble across a shelf of small black plastic jars each 200mL in size. The brand is called Swissvax. I ask the owner what's the deal with this line and he says that it's a new line he picked up and uses it for higher end clientel. So I look through the jars and I nearly dropped them on the ground when I seen the price tag on those damn things. He had about six different types of waxes supposedly for different types of paints and vehicles. One called 'Mystery' was priced at $580/jar a detail for my tundra with this wax with him giving me a 'discount' comes out to about $450-475. I laughed and scoffed at him rude I know, but I couldn't help it.

To add salt to the wound, he had for display a plastic case with two jars inside and it was labeled Divine. I asked him what the damage was on this and all I was told that it would damage my wallet severely. Needless to say I found it on the company's website and it definitely ain't pretty! Here's the link so you can be shocked for yourself.

Dont knock it, it is supposed to be a killer brand of wax. Yes it's expensive, but Zymol has one that is $30,000.

You get what you pay for in detailing. I'd think he must be a good detailer if he was using something that good. Or at least he would *seem* good.

SOLARIS - Zymol Worldwide

Yeah, i've bought a $70 jar of Pinnacle Souveran. The more expensive waxes are really good, maybe not good enough over my $70 jar, but if I had the money, i'd buy it.

Better to be a $500 wax than a $3 Turtle Wax IMO

Oh i'm not knocking it...i'm sure that king kicks butt but i'm just saying that the price tag shocked me for a bit as I've never seen a super expensive wax in person, only online. I've heard about and seen the Zymol $30k online too and the lifetime free refill deal.

I'm sure he may be a pretty decent detailer as it appears that he takes the necessary steps for high end detailing, but maybe it's just the Chinese blood in me freaking out whenever I see the price tags.

Dear lord,it might be cheaper importing whole carnauba palm trees and extracting the wax myself.

Solaris: honeydew,olive,coconut,cantaloupe,and coconut oils

Mystery: macadamia nut,peach,and vanilla extracts

Reading these descriptions make me hungry

The guy at the shop called me and told me that he brought in a new jar called Samurai which is supposed to be designed towards imports like suzuki, toyota, honda, etc. Though he didn't tell me the price of the jar.

Well since the Tundra is mostly American, maybe mix some Turtle wax and some Samurai wax, to ensure theres no rejection that Samurai wax could be racist.

Macadamia, I always figured it could make a good wax, I ate a whole bag of them, and floaters have a water proof consistency to them.

It'd be cheaper to just repaint after every wash.
