DetailingGeneral discussion forum for detailing your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "POLL: How slick is your paint?", within the Detailing forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I would like to hear from members about the waxes they use. Unlike all of the other threads here, I am not really all that interested in long lasting shine. I am only interested in how slick/smooth is your vehicle after you apply your wax and most importantly how long does it stay that way?
I have used several different products but the first time I wash the truck, the surface is no longer slick/smooth. Anyways, let me hear from you all. Remenber, this is not a "mine is better than yours" thread. Just want to know what product(s) are keep em' slippery.
Wifes car has 2 layers of FK1 1000p, topped this morning with Four Star PUPP. PUPP is by far the slickest sealant I've ever used. Alot of the slickness is gone after the second wash, but I can apply a new layer in about 10 minutes, so its not a big deal. Main protection from the FK1 is still underneath.
Tundra has about 6 layers of Z-2p and topped yesterday again with PUPP.

Clay bar, polished, and sealed using rejex. The clay bar makes the biggest difference. How do you expect a smooth finish if you don't have a smooth surface to begin with?
If I place a plastic bottle on the hood it slides off
