This is a discussion thread titled "Soap out of Chamois?", within the Detailing forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a chamois that continually streaks my new Tundra. How do I get the soap out!? I have run it through the washing machine twice and I have used it at least a half dozen times. Or should I pitch it and buy a synthetic one? thanks

I think Microfiber works better IMO

Yeah I use a synthetic one as well ... I thought the leather ones stripped the wax off anyway, could be an old wives tale but I think the non-leather ones work alot better anyway.

Give a good quality microfiber waffle weave drying towel a chance. You can wash them hundreds of times and they do a great job of soaking up a wet car.

You may be wiping with it while it is too wet. Try using it with just a bit less moisture. Also take care with it in the washing machine. It can get beat up pretty bad in there. Avoid very aggressive wash cycles.
