DetailingGeneral discussion forum for detailing your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "To Armor All or not to Armor All?", within the Detailing forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
What are everyones' feelings on using Armor All on the interior? I kind of like the matte look of the dash but want to protect it and not sure what to do.
I use the armor all low gloss on mine. I haven't seen it in awhile, but I know they used to make it. I got a bunch awhile back during a sale so I stocked up. It's gone now so I need to find some more. It works good, and I think it looks good without making it so on a sunny day I get blinded by my dash :P
Current Mods:
Rhino Liner, Volant CAI, Borla dual exhaust, 3"front/1"rear Toytec lift, 305/65r18 BFG AT K/O,
Future:
GPS, Sirius, Black Headlight (when I get the guts to do it!)
I use Mother's protection on my interior and love the look, smell and the protection it provide the dash from UV. I use it on all my vehicles and my wife loves it when I use it on her Honda Accord. I also use Luxor leather treatment on the leather components like the leather wrapped steering wheel. I don't have leather seats anymore so I save on that, but it works nicely on my wife's Honda Accord leather seats. I do miss having leather seats, probably should have just bought the LTD, but was trying to save money as I just became a father and the bills are getting tougher with the added expense especially with $1k for day care.
303........best stuff on earth. The UV protection is worth the $$. It does NOT make the flat dash shiny...

I dont see why the masses think Armor All is that bad. It's not greasy if you do a double wipe, water based so it wont attract dust, and has just as many UV protectants as 303. If you are not satisfied with Armor All, then you are not using the right application procedure.
Another good intereor dressing is Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer.

1 part Armor All to 1 part water mixed in a spray bottle does a great job and is more economical than anything on the market. It's very clean looking and it's not greasy looking at all. I used to use 303 on everything but that got too expensive.

I use Armor All and when people see my dash they say thats looks good and then I tell them I use Armor All they say I thought it was bad for cars and collected dust.
That was the old formula everyone talkes about. It was a little more greasy and such, but people dont make their own opinions often, so they go by heresay.
AA is a good product. Is it the best, no. But it's just one option in the choice of interior dressings.
