Default Ultimate Detailing Machine kits 15% off at Autopia car care.

Coupon code "polish" good until June 9.

Ultimate Detailing Machine, Porter Cable 7424 Car Polisher, Car Polish

The Ultimate Detailing Machine & pads only kit looks like a good deal, considering the price I paid for the PC & then had to buy the pads & backing plate seperate back in the day.

I don't know anything about the Sonus product line as I've never used it.

Which kit do you suggest? How is it compare to PC and Makita?

I've never use the real polisher.... I used a cheapo one ( once )... burnt the paint all over my 4Runner!

I want a good one for my '07 Tundra.... pads suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Thanks,
The link appears to be just a Porter Cable clone. I'm sure it'll work fine.

For a Porter Cable, look for the 7336 or 7424. DeWalt makes the 443 ROB that is an awesome machine. Much more power and speed than the PC. A little heavier but it feels very well balanced in your hands. They are a bit more expensive but money well spent.

Lake Country and Sonus are pretty much the standard in the industry as far as pads go. All of my pads are LC pads. I've had a few Sonus over the years, they are good as well, but tended to shed a little more than the LC pads.

If youre new to all this I'd say just go with the PC 7336/7424. They arent hard to find and the backing plates are readily available. They're a breeze to use and give amazing results. Dont have to worry about damaging your paint with a PC.

If you go with LC pads, I'd suggest gettting 2 of each color. Black, white, orange and yellow. It helps to have a backup pad if you find yourself needing to change polishes but wanting to stay with the same pad's aggressiveness.

Hope thats of some help.

Thanks Jumbo Jet... I'll dig more into it.

What is LC? Sorry... I have no clue about car detailing.

Youre welcome.

LC is Lake Country, they make the pads. It was just quicker to type LC

Check out Detailers Paradise http://detailersparadise.com/View.as...071-2491365464 They have the PC/pad bundle for $192, that includes your backing plate and the LC pads. They're great to work with and extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell.

I personally use the portercable and it will work fine. Just get good pads.

Here's another option from Griots.

http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...dom+orbital.do

The handle does make a difference. Most of the time you can use it with one hand - especially when you are on the roof and "reaching". But this handle give you better purchase to push when necessary. I think it's probably the most "perfected" of the once I've seen.

But the only thing that makes it different is the hande.

Otherwise, these are all just repackaged portercable type DA sander/polisher.

Any are waaaaaaay better than by hand!!
