I to use the Meguiars Quick Detailer for the got to go now routine. Goes on very easy and wipes off without leaving any residue. Hmmmm, I think I need more right now---see ya.
Originally posted by HighLander51 I use Meguiars Final Detail. It is only available thru dealers. Just spray some on, and wipe dry, done. Keeps dust from sticking to the paint, and beads up just like wax. Takes about 8 minutes to do the whole truck, and it lasts thru 6 to 8 washes. You will never have to wax again.
Actually, that's not true. You'll find that when the spray doesn't wipe off so easily it's a sign it's time to wax. That's even part of the directions. But you only have to wax every three months if it's hot - even longer if it's cool or cold.
The only downside to Mequiars is that it has no sunscreen protection. I used to use it for years.
I think if you'll every try Griot's quick shine you wouldn't go back. Still has the same limitation - no sunscreen protection. But it also dispenses a touch of wax.
Mequiars just cleans well, it doesn't leave a finish.
Meguiars actually has two products that look very similar. One is Quik Detailer and the other is Quik Wax. Have used both. The Quik Wax is a true carnuba based liquid wax that does a decent job for what it is.
I use it between major wax jobs and then use the quick detailer as well to keep the dust off.
I just tried something new last weekend, and was very pleased with how it worked out. It is a product called Quick Easy Wash, and is available from camping supply shops or online for about $26 a gallon.
I was able to completely wash the Rav and the Tundra using two gallons of water and two buckets, two small microfiber towels and one large MF.
(would definitely recommend fresh buckets for a second vehicle if the water is very dark after the first).
One gallon gets one ounce of QEW, the other gallon gets nothing (so that $26 gallon will last for over a hundred washes).
Work section by section, apply QEW, rinse with clear water, then dry.
Had no trouble with bird droppings or bugs. The Rav is dark blue, and I saw no swirl marks being added, so the QEW was providing enough lubrication for the MF to lift the dirt.
This stuff is great for those who live in apartments or in water usage-controlled areas where you'll get slammed with a fine for hose-washing your car, or in areas where the local EPA is concerned about runoff from washing... there is no runoff!
Think of it as a heavy-duty quick detailer... it's just as convenient.

Recently, I've been using a product called QEW, or Quick Easy Wash.
Two one gallon buckets of water.
Two microfiber towels.
One large microfiber drying towel.
One ounce of QEW, poured into one of the above buckets.
Work panel by panel, top down. Take towel soaked in diluted QEW mixture and "wash". Replace in bucket. Take towel soaked in clear water and "rinse". Replace in bucket. Take drying towel and dry. Move on to next panel.
I can do both my Tundra and Rav4 in less than 30 minutes, and I've noticed no scratches or swirl marks... yes, I was nervous of "washing" without a hose, especially on the dark blue Rav. I do the Rav first, and if the water is very dark, I'll change it before doing the Tundra, but I've done both vehicles on two occasions with the same QEW and rinse buckets.
This product was designed for RV use, but it is a Godsend to those of us who don't trust the FBoD at the coin-op or the "clean" towels at the local car scratch... I mean car wash, and:
A - Live in apartments or condos where we have no hose available.
B - Live in drought areas where vehicle washing is restricted or prohibited.
C - Are eco-aware regarding water use and detergent runoff.
Think of this stuff as a Quick Detail spray on steroids.

I use either Megiuars Quick Detailer ($4.99) or their Meguiar's Final Inspection ($6.99), but mostly use Wizards Mist-N-Shine ($12.99) since I can get it cheaper through a connection.

I have use Meguire's Quick detailer, Griots Speed Shine, Mothers Showtime and Zymol detailer. I now use only Mothers Showtime, seems like it has more lubricity to keep form scratching the paint, last longer and smells great.

I tried the Sonus Acrylic Spritz today, and was very impressed. It polishes quicker than my earlier favorite, Mothers Showtime, and appears to leave a deep, smooth shine. I ordered it yesterday from BetterTruckCare.com and it arrived today. Not bad, considering FedEx showed it was scheduled for Monday.

Sonus is one of the few (maybe only) QD sprays that is a true acrylic...it works superbly as Quick Detail spray on a Klasse base coat. Even on the Natural White paint I get a deep shine. I use it after each wash...it is indeed quick...about a 5 minute job for the whole truck and not much is needed.

For carnuaba waxed trucks I LOVE Sonus Carnuaba Spritz. For synthetic sealants(Klasse, Zaino, Autoglym, etc) I use Sonus Acrylic spritz.
Both wipe off really easy and doesn't leave smears. Sonus Quick Detailing Spray
Heres a good article I found on using QD sprays. How to use quick detail sprays
