Default What Duragloss products should I use

Hi Brandon,

If I was going to use all Duragloss products and complete your 6 step exterior detailing guide what products would I use?

Specifically what would I use for step 3 defect removal and step 4 polishing? I tried to figure it out myself but Duragloss calls everything a polish.

Thanks Brandon,

Blake

Polish is a term used loosely in the detailing world. Something is a polish only if it improves the condition of the paint in any way (remove defects, burnish surface, etc). Sometimes companies (Zaino, DG) will use Polish to describe a LSP (last step product or wax).

If you are going all local, I recomend using #105 or #111 with a spray of #951 for the LSP. For the polish, duragloss has a pre-cleaner and a swirl remover. Use whichever one will solve your paint problems (often swirl remover first, then pre-cleaner).

Honestly, like I mentioned in the article, better products can be had online. I recomend Enzittes, Optimum, Menzerna, Klasse, etc for some better polishes. #105 is still my fav LSP though!

Brandon by far has more knowledge on what products to use than I do. But, I performed my first detail with the following list of Duragloss products and the end results were very pleasing. You will not be disappointed with the outcome.

Heres what I used:
1. Dura Gloss 901 Car Wash Concentrate
2. Blue clay magic
3. DG 652 Pre-cleaner
4. DG 105
5. DG 951 AquaWax

For step #5 you could wait until the following day to do a wipe down with the AW as its believed the 105 needs a little cure time. Or clean your wheels and tires then perform step #5, whichever suits your time.

Good luck and happy detailing.

Just FYI, I emailed Duragloss about the cure time for #105 and I was told to wait 12hrs before applying the AW. 24 hrs in cooler weather. It took me a bit by suprise since I liked using AW as my final wipe down after a full detail, now I guess I'll only apply it after just a wash. AW is an A+ product!!

Thanks for the info Supersoz. I took your advice a couple of days ago and just did a wash with the DG 901 CWC and then followed up with a wipedown of the AW. It looked as shiny as a couple weeks ago when I did the big detail and felt just as smooth. Guess in the future I will do the same and just wash and follow with AW.
