Default CG 50/50 Concours Paste Wax

So for the past two weeks, i've been slowly working on my truck getting it back to an acceptable level of shine for now. I've just picked up a tin of Chemical Guys 50/50 wax from Ranney here at the PakShak and put on a coat today before I headed to work. Here's some pictures for your enjoyment! Sorry the pictures aren't the best of quality in the sunlight as we are experiencing VOG from the big island here for the past few weeks. The weather has been horrible here...but it's the best I could do in such a short span of time! anyways, enjoy

The total process over the past two weeks went as follows:
  • Menzerna SIP w/ LC CCS orange pad
  • P&S Full Throttle w/ LC CCS white pad
  • ONR wash down
  • SwissVax Cleaner fluid w/LC CCS white hand app
  • SwissVax Samurai 2x coats w/LC CCS red hand app
  • Zymol Titanium 1x Coat applied with hands
  • VictoriaWax Quick Detail Spray
  • Chemical Guys 5050 concours wax 1x coat w/LC CCS red hand app
  • Zaino Z8 sealant

Daily wipedown was FK425 in the morning and OID "Optimum Instant Detail" after work in the evening for the ride home!

While I was QD'ing the truck earlier today I opened the tin and let it sit in the sun to warm up a little. I wanted to see how the heat affected its application so I parked the truck in the sun in front of my garage. After I finished the QD, I went ahead and applied the wax. It went on just as smooth as my Samurai did, but it didn't stretch as far. I would rate ease of application right in between the Swissvax Samurai and my Wolfgang Fuzion. I started out on the passenger side of the truck, and by the time I reached around the bed panel on the driver side I could already use the wax that was sitting in the pockets of the pad.

You don't need to use too much as expected with the higher end type of nubas as the entire truck too me about 5 to 6 full circular wipes out of the tin. Of course the heat on the body panels allowed me to stretch the wax as far as I could to help apply a thin and even layer. Overall I have to say that it appears to be a pretty good wax in terms of application and ease of removal. Goes on smooth and easy almost like butter. Now just have to wait and see how it holds up to the vog and occasional rain showers here. At least the vog isn't as heavy as last time giving us acid rain!
