To get an "extra" shine I've read the advice about going with a carnuaba on top of a sealant. Just clayed and applied sealant last weekend and very pleased with outcome. Don't have any pure carnuaba on hand but do have both Mother's and Meguiar's car cleaner waxes w/carnuaba in the garage. Understand the difference and that carnuaba is superior, just wondering if a car cleaner wax would "cut" and strip off the sealant? Appreciate any advice.

Yes, the cleaner wax will strip the sealant. Head to your local harley dealership and pick up some S100. It's a "pure" carnauba and it works very well. Or a local Napa may have Meguiars #26.

What kind of paint sealant did you use? I tried to have the dealer do it,But they told me "it has so many coats of clear, you don't need it" I know that's a bunch of crap. All it takes is a bird crap one time in the sun on the hot black paint and it eats in to it. I am always going out on poop patrol at work.My buddy at work didn't believe me until his 03 tundra got hit. It stains the clear coat.
This may sound a little anal, but when I used to have a job that required my truck to be parked all day, I'd go out every few hours and check it for bird crap. Back then, I had a truck with a 3-stage pearl paint job. I always kept a little bottle of spray detailer and some soft towels on hand to remove it asap.
Don't believe any of those, 1 year sealant ads. Even the best sealants out there will lose their effectiveness after 4 to 6 months. Using anything other than 100% carnuba will have and adverse affect on the sealant. Best rule of thumb is to apply your sealant, make sure you let it cure the proper amount of time. I believe some say 12 hours others say 24. I usually wait 12 and then hit it with a second coat. After another 12 I use a good quality carnuba wax. For me, I like using Poorboys EX-P and then follow up with some PB Natty Blue. I've been very happy with the outcome on my Spectra Blue Tundra. Good luck and happy detailing.

I know Brandon and others can vouch for this brand, but I would suggest trying out the Duragloss line of sealants. Other detail forums and from personal use show that a combo of DG 501 as a base, then top with 105 looks amazing especially if you have a white vehicle!
501 is the same as 105 except on steroids...sealant down first then top with a nuba of your choice. I won't recommend a specific one because for me personally, i've opted to shell out the bucks and went with the higher end waxes. Currently i've done the 501/105 base and topped it off with SwissVax waxes. I didn't use sealants for the past few months because i'm doing a personal carnuba wax test of all types of nubas out there, but since we are having a hurricane that has touched down on the big island yesterday and moving its way up, i figure beef up the protection.
Anyways, duragloss is a cheap product that performs extremely well for the price. Either that or JumboJet's favorite 1Z line, try Glanz Wax. Depending on who you ask, it's a sealant or a wax. That things smells and looks like acetone and applies in a liquid form but hazes like a wax. I have had good results with that here in tropical climate for about 3 weeks solid.
Just some food for thought! I'll check my notes to see what combos I have used that have showed me great results and will post if you want.

Your using DG505 & 105 & then putting another wax on after 105? What is the point of that? I that 105 was a last step product (sealant).
Will dg652 & 105 (its what I'm currently using on my first run) do the same as 505/105 or is the latter a better combo?
A typical course for a detailer is to use a "All in One" polish (the 652 or 501) then use a pure sealant ( 105 ). Then if more depth is required you can put a carnuba wax over the sealant.

How long do you guys spend detailing a car, Shiut!?
Brandon, if you recall I wasn't too happy with my results using the PG & the Pinnacle products on the old sequoia I bought. I tried it again with the DG products (652; orange pad) & even did some areas 2 times. I did notice the haze was reduced significantly. I just can't imagine all these steps you guys use & how long it must take.
It's a labor of love. If I'm doing a complete detail on the exterior it usually takes me about 4-6 hours. To detail interior and exterior is about 8 hours. I'm a freak though, I take seats out, pull tires and clean both sides of rim, ect. I think my wife gets a little jealous at times.

Yea I know what you mean. Every time I get my oil changed at the dealer they want to wash my truck. I always tell them not to get their dirt filled rags near my paint, thank you very much. They finally got the point when I told them to update my record with a request to NEVER wash my truck. Get your self a PC and some good polish and your paint will be back to it's dealer shine.

Has anyone tried the zano products? I used on my black Avalanche, but of course that was 2002 and technology is ever so fast in passing up older items. It really worked well and I had no problems with swirls and in South Louisiana I would get a few months in between coats.

zeeya2000 ,
Zaino is a fine product, and it seems it worked best for you. From them, I only like Z5PRO and Z-8. Anything else, IMO, you can get cheaper from different distributors.
