What do you all use to clean your detailing pads? I saw pad rejuvenator on autogeek, but $17 seems a little pricey for a pad cleaning concentrate. Are there any other household products (such as simple green) that will still get the job done? Thanks.
I'm a dawn user as well. As Brandon said, hot hot water and I also work the soap in with my thumbs on the really caked in spots until the pad is back to normal color. Then I give them a spin on the PC, level 6, and lay them face down in the drawer. They say not to lay them on their back to help prevent the water from affecting the adhesive on the back of the pad. Hope this helps.

Yea, DP pad rejuvenator sucks mountain apples! I've used that before on my pads and the wax is still left inside the pores of the foam even after letting the pads soak for three days!
The dawn method works, no gripes about it. I also use the CG "chemical guys" pad cleaner solution, that works much better then DP. Though fortunately for us here, Ranney down at PakShak has actually developed his own APC that works really well. Unfortunately, I think he said that it's only available here on 'Oahu.
I would say if you want economical then either dawn or SG works, but if you don't mind spending a buck or two more then try the CG one out.

Simple green in concentrate or diluted?
I'm glad this ? was brought up because this is becoming the worst part in learning to detail. Thanks again Jumbo & Brandon for sharing your trade.
