Re: Need a great wax? Ebay is the place. Great deal!
OK... I inspected 6 out of 10 cans I ordered...
4 out of 6 are OK... I think it looks mushy around the can, but not that bad. I never see the perfect one, so I can't tell if they are good or not. The are soft to press down but not like pudding.
Re: Need a great wax? Ebay is the place. Great deal!
The Ebayer been very good to me - I'm sure they'll take good care of you. They are back on-line with another 200 tins @ $14.99. I kinda wonder where all these tins are coming from..... someone's warehouse or from overseas. In either case, it seems like there's ample opportunity for excessive temp during storage/transportation to break down the stuff. I'm also guessing that none of the retailers are opening the tins prior to resale - I can't imagine opening 200 tins and separating the pudding from the chocolate types.
At the bottom of the recent ad, they reference buyers to go to Meguiarsonline.com.......
I'm still holding out to see what Rjon gets in his update.

Look a few posts down in that link, it has pictures of how M16 is supposed to look.
Thanks Brandon, but I couldn't find the picture in the link you mentioned - the pics shown are ones that the guy reheated that he is comparing with other types of waxes.
Here's a link to a "new" open can ..... this is the state of M16 and the hard chocolate consistency I was looking for. Again.... just seeking to understand.
Re: Need a great wax? Ebay is the place. Great deal!
SalsaMax - from the pic on the link above... if the good ones look like that... then all my 6 cans are bad... :-( I will try the boiling methods and see.
The seller replied and ask me to send back the bad ones so they can get the $$ back from where she bought. I think I will keep it and try the boiling method.
I inquired the other 4 whether she shipped out yet... she said it shipped... I guess I have to check them again when it arrived.
Re: Need a great wax? Ebay is the place. Great deal!
Matrix.... I am really just trying to understand what a "good one" looks like. Lots of folks on the forums say they've received "good" cans, but I haven't seen pics of any - all the ones I've seen have been reheated (sun or double-boiler) or refridgerated. I surfed the Meguiars web-site and could only find the one link that showed a more dry consistency for M16.
Again - I am new to M16 and do not know what it is "supposed" to look like. Brandon says his looks like "room temp chocolate", but he also mentioned he put it in the fridge. Hopefully, someone else will show us a pic of what an "good", "new" (not heated, not refridgerated) can looks like. This is why I'm interested in seeing what RIjon receives from the EBayer...

I double boiled my two cans over the weekend, refered them, then polished and waxed my truck with them. Turned out great, so don't be afraid. It was way easier than returning them and jumping through all those hoops. But to each his own.

My girlfriends dad has told me in his younger days he used to use marine (boat) was on his cars. He said the protection is outstanding (as they are ment for the water) and last much longer than any truck or car wax he has ever used. I personally have never tried it but intend to get som Meguirs brand (or equivelant) marine wax and give it a try!
Nice find on the #16 I wish that seller still had it for $8 shipped...
