I Have A Dent On My Hood, Near The Middle, Because My Friend Jumped Up To Sit On It -.-
Yeah, Dont Ask Why He Didnt Sit In The Bed, Cause I Dont Know.
So A Dent Is In My Hood Now, And Was Wondering What Can Fix It ? My Brother Said Take A Plunger And Slap It Down And Pull Up ... But I Dont Wanna Do That Unless It Works.
That might work......Give it a shot...If it doesn't work, either a paint less dent removal guy can fix it or a body shop...PUNCH your friend in the face!
Well, I Was Pissed At Him Hah.
I Was Thinkin Of The Body Shops, But Then Realized Its A SHOP, So It'd Probably Be Pretty Damn Expensive Hahaha.
I Guess I Can Save Up For A Paintjob And See If They Toss In A Dent Removal
I Was Planning On A Paintjob Anyways, I Dont Like The Dark Grey, Or As The Dealers Call It "Phantom GreyPearl." I Wanted A Metallic White, Not Just White, Because The Stock White Is Ugly.
If it's the right size and not near the edge of a panel, paintless dent removal. Ive had it done several times. 60-90 bucks per panel usually. If you can't find one to deal with directly in your area Ive dealt with the ones who subcontract with local bodyshops and paid about the same.

it will do for you. but if your hood is having some paint on it, it will get all up! so better to avoid that if you dont have available paint.
HUH??
I agree with the other post--smack your friend in the face with the plunger and have a paintless dent removal done. The whole plunger on the truck thing seems a little iffy to me...
How big is the dent? from the center to the furthest edge, how big?
Its Not Like Insanely Big, But A Paintless Dent Removal Place Said They Couldn't Do It "Because There Is A Frame Underneath Your Hood, Blocking Me From Rebending The Metal"
If it's an even depression and not that large then maybe dry ice may work. So I've been told by people who supposedly tried it when their vehicles got hit with hail damage. Even dents that were larger than hail have "popped" out as long as there is not a "crease" in the dent. You can buy dry ice in different sizes. Don't forget to wear gloves, your skin will stick to it, instantly! The Publix near our house used to sell it so maybe your local grocery store has it also. Just a thought.

Good luck!
I've never heard of using dry ice before. How does that work??

dry ice quickly cools the area of the dent causing the metal to try and contract....this places an in plane force on the metal causing it to "pop" up...kinda like if you were to have a piece of paper with a hump in it and then pull each end to flatten it out....I've never had much luck with this method though....very small dents did occassionaly work.

Does it work on small crease dents? Some jackass managed to put one on my passenger side rear door in a parking lot. I got the scratch out of it, but it kills me to see the little dent every time I look down the side of the truck. Would I just rub the dry ice against it to achieve the desired effect? The paintless dent guy told me he didn't think he could get it out, so I just wondered if the dry ice might be worth a shot.

if the metal is creased forget about it...dry ice method will not take it out....dry ice only works on small shallow depressions caused by spherical or semi spherical objects like hail, ball peen hammer etc and not on creases
