Default Removing paint scuff from mirror

I do not have a picture readily available since I'm at work, but could go snap one if it makes it easier to understand. I have 2 small paint scuffs that are on one of the side mirrors. Looks like someone hit one of them but it did not do any damager or scratch them..just left 2 white marks about 1" long.

Is there anything to use that can safely remove them without discoloring/scratching the mirrors? I heard brake cleaner could, but don't want to try it if it may leave it discolored....

I had the same problem. After several attempts to remove them failed I went the other route; cover them up. Black magic marker worked great. It's not perfect but you can't see the scratches anymore and it blends in well. Cheap, quick and effective.

Oh, do not use brake cleaner unless you want to strip the paint clean off the mirror.

Just use a little rubbing compound and a soft microfiber, should take it off in a hurry.

My mirrors are not the painted ones, just the black plastic ones so no paint. Would rubbing compound leave white on the plastic? Someone else mentioned Acetone..I just do not want to mess the mirrors/plastic up any, and why I came here to ask the experts!

Hmm, that changes things a bit, but still dont use brake cleaner. Try a Magic Eraser first, then do some WD40 if that does not work, then try some adhesive remover.

I had this from my garage- yes, on both sides. I used some Oops remover, and had all gone in less than 5 minutes. Evidently, made to remove dried latex paint.

I second WD-40, my wife likes to scrape the running boards on the garage trim
