Default Meguiar's Tech Wax

Tried out Meguiar's new NXT Tech Wax this past weekend.

After experimenting with several waxes since buying my '03 Tundra last year, I settled on Meguiar's M-0716 Show Car Glaze and M-9816 Medallion Paint Protection wax. With a dark color, I'd have chosen Klasse but my Tundra is white - the Meguiar's stuff gave me a better shine.

Picked up a bottle of the Tech Wax at WalMart for $13 and ran home to try it out. I compared by using the Show Car Glaze and the Medallion wax on the front half of the truck, then used the Tech Wax on the back half (no Glaze on the back half, as Tech Wax allegedly does both jobs).

The Tech Wax went on faster and buffed up much easier than any wax I've used before. It also resulted in a slightly brighter shine than the Glaze/Medallion combo. I was also surprised to see Tech Wax also allowed me to buff out a few very shallow paint scratches as part of the normal application. However, the Show Car Glaze/Medallion Wax combo did give me a smoother finish to the touch - the Tech Wax felt a little gritty (might be from the same abrasive that buffed out the scratches). Overall, I was pretty impressed with the Tech Wax.

Just thought I'd share my 2 cents...

Any pics? Glad you liked NXT, you might want to follow up with a Quick Detailer, see if that gets rid of the "gritty" feel

Meguiar's tech guy told me that their NXT Tech wax is their longest lasting wax.

Next time clay with detailers clay before you wax and see and feel the difference. It's truly amazing.

NXT smells almost good enough to eat I use Deep Crystal paint cleaner instead of clay, surface comes out nice and smooth.

NXT wax is a great nuba/sealant/cleaner combo, it just has little durability. I found that NXT only lasts about 4wks for me. But on mettalics, it cant be beat.

Meguiars updated and now claims #21 as their longest lasting sealant. I fully agree, and it looks killer.
