Default This is this video from Adams Polishes

This is a good video for the detailing process, I don't want to push his products, although I think his in and out and VRT are pretty good. The carpet cleaner worked well for me last yr, but I've found Woolite since to do as well. I think there are other products that probably work as well for the other pieces. But, it's a good video to watch the process!

(I'd put a url earlier for these videos, but they rebuilt their site and it's changed a little.)

that is a great video, and most of thier stuff is actually ok. VRT, IN & OUT, Detail Spray, Spray Glaze, Glass Cleaner, Undercarriage spray all work fantastic.

Detail spray from adams is one of my favorite detail sprays.

Yeah, I love their detail spray and undercarriage spray. In and out works well also. Thats actually about it for me on Adams. Buttery wax looks ok but has no longevity and the polishes are crap. Metal polish 1&2 is ok.

Brandon,

I currently claybar my red tundra and was with Meguiars NXT. The shine is pretty good. Since my NXT is almost gone I thought I might try the products you suggest. Are there any differences I will be able to tell right away with the Duragloss products?

My truck is a red 2000 tundra.

Thanks,

Ken

Definatly, NXT is a good wax, but it does not compare to #105. You will notice a slicker, wetter, much more durable finish than with NXT.

#105 has only a little cleaner in it though, your paint must be properly cleaned before application or else you will wax over oxidation and swirl marks. Duragloss makes paint polishes and their #101 is a great chemical paint cleaner to go on before 105.

Brandon,

Since I just did my truck with clay and NXT, can I just use Dura Gloss Aquawax on top of it to keep it nice for a while after I wash? How long before my NXT needs to be redone anyway?

Also what do you think of Plastx for making my headlights shiny? I currently use Novus Plastic Polish. Its a 2 or 3 step process that has good results but does not last very long.

Thanks,

Ken

Yeah, Aquawax to keep it topped off after a while. I would AW after every wash, probably strip and reapply NXT after a month or so if you wish, but I like to wax, so I do it every month anyway.

Novus is good polish that works, Plastic X works just as well though. As for it not lasting long, you need to seal the plastic with a wax. After you polish, seal with NXT or AW for alonger lasting shine.

Brandon,

Do you have a method for stripping paint before you put on a fresh coat of wax or sealant? Does claybar do this?

Thanks,

Ken

You can use Dawn dish detergent to strip wax off the paint.

Ehh, to some newer sealants, dawn wont strip it the first time, just depends on what wax was on there the first time.

Try a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and that will strip it off.

Yes, it helps remove water spots and keeps them looking new and water beading really well.

Ehh, I would generally use the PC on windows, has extra cutting power when you need to remove spots!
