Default zaino anyone?

who out there uses zaino products? for those who do, what products do you recommend or use on your tundra. the zaino website recommends the full gambit of course... the z1 polish lok, z2 polish, z5 polish for swirls, z6 gloss enhancer, and the z7 car wash. oh, and don't forget the clay bar to prep for the above polishes. do i really need all these on a practically new (2 months old) truck?

YEP If you have the time (it really isn’t that hard) I would follow the steps outlined on their web site. I went through the whole routine on my wife’s new Acura MDX last summer. I put my final (before winter) coats of Z5 & Z6 on in September and haven’t touched it since. Weekend before last I was able to do a hand wash on her car and the shine and brilliance is still outstanding considering the rain, snow and salt it has been driven in the last 3 months. Some tips. Allocate a whole weekend for the initial application Temps in the 70’s and low humidity are the best Apply VERY little of all the Z’s (single most important thing on this list) LET IT DRY Use clean white 100% cotton bath towels (made in the USA) Get factory direct seconds here: http://fieldcrestcannonoutlet.site.yahoo.net/index.html I understand he has some new stuff that cuts down on drying time. Worth considering. I will be using it on my white Tundra but it’s my personnel opinion this stuff can’t be beat on darker colors. Good luck.

I Zainoed my Tundra right after I bought it. This isn't what they recommended, but I skipped the clay bar, and the Z5 scratch treatment. I washed with Dawn, put on the Z1 polish lock, then the Z2 polish. I also use the Z6 gloss enhancer when I have time. I regularily use the Z7 car wash and the tire gloss, what ever Z that is. The truck looks great!

I use Zaino products, but for a brand new vehicle, I'd skip the swirl remover. I used the clay bar on initial prep to remove any rail dust that might have been present during shipping. I too, would strongly recommend applying when humidity is low to aid in drying time. I also would recommend Eimann Fabrik for detail cleaning supplies. I was able to get a detailing kit on sale for $50 at www.properautocare.com It included 7- 32oz bottles of various cleaning spray products for use on vehicle. Nice for using between Zaino apps.

Yeah, my boy has been treated to the Zaino since day 1. Washed with liquid Dawn first to get rid of wax/grease/etc. Clay Bar (Z-18?) first, then the polish lock (Z-1?). Then Z-2 and Z-5 as directed. Used only big white fluffy 100% cotton towels without polyester striping or threads. Works GREAT! I just put a new coat on every few months and it keeps it looking sharp!

The Zaino products are fabulous. Just take your time, and follow the advice here. I used the clay bar and then followed with Z-1 and Z-2. Great results, even in less than ideal temp/humidity conditions (it was cold!!). The finish has stood up to constant badgering of sand and silt here on a construction site with all dirt/mud/gravel roads. With just a standard washing one month later, it looks like I re-waxed and polished!! I would recommend it without qualms to anyone willing to take the extra time for a great result. Definitely set aside the better part of a weekend for the first effort.

I like the gloss enhancer spray really well also; if your truck isn't really dirty, you can give your truck a 'wash' in just a few minutes, looks like you just waxed it.

I just wish they would get their shopping cart up and working. It's a pain to have to send your order through the mail. I totally agree with that......this is the ONLY part of Zaino I don't like. Ordering the old fashioned way...by snail mail. Guess I'm just spoiled by point and click!!

Nobody comes close. I just wish they would get their shopping cart up and working. It's a pain to have to send your order through the mail. I have been using Zaino for about 3 years, and of course, my 6 week old Tundra has been treated with it. Definitely use the clay bar. You will be shocked at what you pull off a brand new truck. As someone mentioned below, rail dust is no joke. It's real, and it's all over the vehicle depending on how far away you live from Princeton, IN!! And best of all, if you have ANY questions, give them a call, even on Saturday. Sal Zaino has never failed to answer the phone once when I have call regarding application questions.

I got lucky enough to find a local distributor in Indianapolis. She is in to Camaro's and is a very nice lady and knows the products well. The best part is, she takes credit cards and she will next day ship if requested (and a little extra dinero). Here is her info if you are interested: The Gloss Boss - Roz Aldridge (317)859-8449 e-mail ciccindy@iei.net Tell her Rick sent ya, maybe I'll get a discount on my next purchase. I have a black GN and my new black Tundra and have heard nothing but good things about Zaino.

i've never used zaino. matter of fact, my prior ride was a '92 jeep wrangler that looked better dirty. then again, it's white so the dirt doesn't show up as much as with my black '02. just by reading this thread, i'm gonna go for zaino. but i was wondering how long does it last? and does it offer any type or repellant to the dirt? unfortunately my job requires me to park in a dirt lot so even after a casual saturday wash and parked in the work lot all day monday, the truck is looks as if it hasn't been washed in a month! will zaino help to keep this look away at least until friday?

I am in the same situation. My Tundra sits in dirt all week. I did notice an improvement in keeping dust away after the Zaino application. I think the biggest benefit is that washing the dirt off is a breeze (even with a long time inbetween baths), and the shine returns without having to reapply wax or polish. I have gone all winter, and every time I have washed it, the shine is like I just finished waxing and polishing!

Tundrabear, Zaino claims their polish is completely anti-static, so it is not supposed to attract dirt. I believe this. When I used Maguiers Gold a couple of years ago, when I was finished buffing the car, I would have fuzz all over it from the static pull of the polish. I don't have that effect at all with Zaino, so maybe it will stay cleaner????

It will stay cleaner, you will also notice if your truck is dirty, that after a rainstorm, it literally washes the truck again. When I was using carnuba, after the rain, the car would have a cloudy apperance. About Zaino longevity..I would say 6 months would be a good estimate.
