Electrical & Computer SystemsDetails discussions regarding electrical components, wiring, all lighting, wire harnesses and HID conversion for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "'07 Tundra D-cab & Crewmax alarm & starter wiring infos", within the Electrical & Computer Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I did my brothers '07 tundras this weekend, a d-cab limited and a crewmax offroad both with alarm/starter combo.
I wish if I could have one. The only thing that concern me is the wire size it's getting smaller and smaller now.
Almost the entire vehicle use 16/18 guage specially the ignition harness is made of much smaller gauge wires.
Most aftermarket A/S manufacturers other than DEI don't have any info for this brand new breed of Tundra.
This is what I have for all of DIY owners whoever want aftermarket A/S. I've tested each of these wires myself and it's work just fine.
Some of these connections can be simplify to make installation much easier.
I'm still trying to put together a much more complete and most up-to-date wiring diagram for all DIY and members of Tundra Solutions.
Anyone with different info about these connections please post your opinion.
12V (+) White - Ignition Harness Ignition 1 (+) Lt Green - Ignition Harness Ignition 2 (+) Black - Ignition Harness Starter (+) Dk. Green - Ignition Harness Accessory (+) Gray - Ignition Harness * These wires are very small gauge. Unlike older model use 14/16 guage wires.
If you have a complex aftermarket A/S system which can drive all your windows please find a different constant power source. Parking Light (-) Orange - Steering Column* This connection won't work if your vehicle has auto lighting system.
Using a relay to reverse it polarity won't fix this problem. Your alternative is to use any (+) illumination wire behind dash will do it. Brake Light (+) Orange - Brake Switch Door Trigger (-) Orange - Under Dash Bulb * This wire will cause false alarm when your interior light switch is at either ON or OFF positions.
This switch is located on the left of your steering column. Use individual door pin wires with diodes will fix this problem. I'm still trying to find out the single doors trigger wire that route to the instrument cluster but this new
instrument circuit is so complex I need to do more testing. I will post up what I find. Lock (-) White - DKP Unlock (-) Red - DKP Arm with Lock (-) Lt. Blue - DKP* Use these wires to make your factory alarm work side-by-side with your aftermarket unit. Disarm with Unlock (-) Pink - DKP* Very very small gauge. These wire coming in from the driver door. * To prevent factory alarm set off when you remotely started your vehicle you need to send a (-) pulse to KEYSENSE wire to temporarily disable factory alarm.
This will not unlock your vehicle. The other way is to have your aftermarket A/S unit do all the work by unlock before and lock after it remote start your vehicle. Tachometer - Black/Yellow * First coil pack next to your engine oil cap Keysense (+) Gray - Left of ignition cylinder* White plug 2-pin

The entire instrument cluster is powered by a single 2-row rectangular plug. This plug can provide you a tach ouput and single all-door trigger wire. Professional installers please confirm these 2 connections.

Thank You. Great info, this will be a big help when I install my remote start. I didn't know an after market alarm could work in tandem with the factory one. Very cool. Keep up the good work.
hey trinhthien
I got a 2007 crewmax that I'm about to install an alarm/starter. Do you have to use the transponer bypass to have the remote start?
I got a crimestopper cs-1014dp and about to hook it up, but still trying to get all the wiring diagram ahead of time. Any info will be a big help. Thanks.
