whats a good kit to pick up off the net. not looking to spend 500+. i know people sometime grab them out of wrecked benz's and audi's. id like something that will give me more usuable light with a nice cut off for highway and backroads night driving. plus it just looks awesome

I am looking as well. I heard that the kits on ebay are horrible due to glare to the oncoming traffic. I think they make the vehicle look sick but want to do it right and I sure do not want to blind anyone coming towards me.
MODS AstroStart auto start, TrailFX Nerf bars, Tundra AW floor mats, Access Limited Edition soft tonneau cover, vent shades, magnaflow exhaust, Color match headlights, Volant CAI, fully debadged, Billet Grill, LED interior lights, door sill protectors,Truxxx Leveling Kit, 20% tint front windows 5% tint back three windows,
After I get off my @$$ mods Power locking tailgate, auto open tailgate, Line-x Bed Liner, rear window button moved on the dash, RAV interior with heated seats, TRD Sway bar, color match door handles

i bought some for 150. came with the hid lights all the wiring and the ballast. i adjusted the headlights so i wouldn't be blinding anyone. also if you have fogs say bye bye unless you do the fog light mod for hid's which is fairly simple.

I am re-organizing my pictures, please PM me if you find dead pictures and I'll fix it. Also, I don't have many pics in my account here, best place to view my truck is on photobucket: Here is my photobucket account: LINK
I have to download the pics from my Camera and post it up. I just put in a an H4 bi-xenon kit in 4300k (though they look a bit whiter like 5k). The bulb is shielded and retains the stock headlight pattern. When you switch to high beam the capsule is on an electro-magnet to pull it in to give you high beam pattern. Works well! I also got a 3000k set for the fogs as I wanted the yellow for some of the crappy I drive through especially working nights. I still need to change the fogs so they stay on with the high beams. I have all I need already there except that time thing......
None of the horror stories as many here posted about lights not working, over heating, no fogs etc. The kit comes with seperate power wires/relays and only needs to plug into the drivers side. The harness provided then goes over to do the passengers light. I took my headlights out to do it so I could make sure it was mounted good. The H4 bixenons separate from the mount with a 1/4 turn lock. I removed the housings, installed the base and clipped it in, the rubber gasket cover fits perfectly back over to retain waterproofing, and H4 capsule reinserts. It was too hard for me to get the rubber gasket back over the bulb mount while still mounted in truck and I didn't want to chance messing up the HID's. Removing and reinstall was an extra 5 minutes per side to know it was done correctly. I'll try to get pics ASAP including step by step shots and beam pics.
I got the kit from (buyxenon.com) Buy Car and Motorcycle Xenon HID Kits for $165 through a group buy he had going through Hyundai-forums.com. If you mention the group buy I think he is doing it through January.
My fog light mod will consist of moving the wires from my Hella DE's and just add the 9006 plug instead. Other discussions of my experience with why I don't want toplay with the factory relay in other threads posts of mine. Other's experience more positive but $30 for an aftermarket harness to wire as I want, worked very well.

here are some pics of my retro on my 07 Taco DC and PNP kits are bad bad even with the shields the halgen reflectors are not designed to have a bulb that is 3x brighter put in it. I had a PNP set with a shield on my wifes Jetta and it was crazy glare

I'm looking to get in on this group buy also. I emailed the guy, but I think the original owner just sold the business, so hopefully the new guy will still honor it. I wonder why your foglights still work, and so many others have issues? Maybe it is because you have the bi-xenon kit? How is the 4300k color? I don't really like the blue color of the 6000k hids. But I definitely don't want anything with a touch of yellow.
I put pictures in my gallery. order is messed up as it flipped sequence during upload. I'll try to rearrange.
The 4300k that I got for the Sequoia looks slightly whiter than the 4300k H7's in my Sonata. Either way the 4300k makes the Osram silverstars look dingy as anything.

to my understanding the 00-06 tundras have a fog light problem when you install hid kits with that have there own Bal's. there was a write up about making the foglights work again. not very hard.
